Delete your Yaari account
This page explains how to delete your account in the Yaari app (Android) or on the Yaari website, and what happens to your data.
Delete it yourself (takes effect immediately)
- Open the Yaari app or website and sign in. A guest account can only be opened (and deleted) in the browser that made it.
- Go to Me → Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete forever.
A suspended account can't be deleted until the suspension ends. Want a copy first? On the website, Settings → Download my data.
If you can't sign in
Email grievance@yaari.app with the subject "Delete my account" and the mobile number you signed up with. We will check that the number is yours and delete the account within 7 days.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, gender, date of birth, city, bio and photo.
- Your posts, the chats you were part of and the messages you sent, including room messages, photos and videos.
- Your matches, friends, blocks and reports, and your purchase records.
What is kept, and for how long
- For 24 hours, the same phone number or ID document can't start a new account. If you verified your ID, a one-way fingerprint of the document (not the document) is kept for this and for any ban on that document.
- A one-way hash of your phone number (not the number itself), with your gender and date of birth, is kept for one year so that signing up again with the same number keeps them; then it is deleted automatically.
- Google Play keeps its own record of any purchase. Deleting your Yaari account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in Google Play.
